Why does the sea cucumber regenerate its body when damaged?

Black sea cucumber is a precious organism that lives on the bottom of the sandy seabed, its body is light greyish black, its surface is covered with many small and beautiful sharp bumps. They eat organic matter in the mud, keeping the ocean clean. When in danger, sea cucumbers can regenerate their bodies magically—a capability possessed by few organisms. As a treasure of the sea, black sea cucumber contributes to the balance of the ecosystem and has high nutritional value, becoming a wonderful mystery given by nature to the waters of Vietnam.
