I Was Abandoned In The Jungle & Raised By Monkeys

In this episode of OMG Stories: Up Close, Marina Chapman shares the extraordinary story of how she says she was abducted as a young child, abandoned in the Colombian jungle and survived for years alongside a group of monkeys. Marina remembers being taken when she was around four years old before eventually finding herself completely alone in the rainforest. Frightened, hungry and with nobody coming to find her, she began observing the monkeys around her — learning where they found food, how they reacted to danger and the different sounds they used to communicate. Over time, Marina says the animals became the closest thing she had to a family. She learned to climb trees, find water, identify food and survive in an environment completely removed from the human world. Eventually she was taken out of the jungle, beginning another incredibly difficult chapter as she attempted to adjust to life around people again.
