The Anji Khad Bridge, located in Jammu and Kashmir, is India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge. It connects the Katra and Reasi sections of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL). Initially proposed as an arch bridge, it was redesigned due to the region's unstable geology. The bridge spans 473 meters with a main arch span of 265 meters. The area’s seismic activity and fragile rock formations led to the shift in design, with the final bridge utilizing indigenous materials and high-quality construction standards. The Anji Khad Bridge is a significant engineering achievement in the Himalayan terrain.
