Orhan Ghazi Conquest of Karesi Beylik

Orhan Ghazi: Conquest of the Karesi Beylik This video explores the remarkable rise of Orhan Ghazi and his strategic expansion in Anatolia, marking a crucial phase in early Ottoman history. After the successful conquests of Bursa and Nicaea, the Ottomans turned their focus toward Izmit (Nicomedia), one of the last remaining Byzantine strongholds in the region. Despite strong resistance from the Byzantines, Orhan Ghazi realized the importance of naval power for long-term dominance. Under the leadership of Karamürsel Bey, the foundations of the Ottoman navy were established in the Gulf of Izmit, changing the course of Ottoman military strategy. Following the fall of Izmit, the Ottomans emerged as the most powerful state in Anatolia. Soon after, through a unique mix of diplomacy, loyalty, and strategic decisions, the Karesi Beylik was incorporated into the Ottoman state—largely influenced by the loyalty of Dursun Bey. This peaceful yet decisive annexation significantly strengthened the Ottoman naval and military capabilities, paving the way for future expansion into Europe, especially through Gallipoli. Discover how leadership, strategy, and alliances helped shape one of the most powerful empires in history. #history #historywithsohail #ottoman #orhanbey Follow us :   / historywithsohail   Facebook :  / historywithsohail   Twitter :   / historyinurdu1   Instagram :  / historyinurdu   Pinterest :  / historyinurduofficial   Website :https://historyinurdu.com/ Disclaimer Some contents are used for educational purpose under fair use.
