Architect Transforms Compact 200-Year-Old Paris Apartment, 45sqm/484sqft

Set within a 200-year-old building on one of Paris’s oldest streets, architect Pierre Savajol of PS Studio reworked this once cramped and poorly proportioned apartment using a clever loop plan, overlapping spaces and discreet built-in furniture. A compact technical core at the centre of the layout containing the kitchen, bathroom and storage creates a continuous loop around it, improving flow and connecting the surrounding living spaces. Other highlights include a bathroom that expands into the corridor when in use and a walk-in wardrobe accessed from both the bedroom and corridor.
