PETER AMERTY | BEYOND THE BOX (MUSICIAN TALK)

This is a part of a demonstration and musician talk presented by Amerty Peter in BEYOND THE BOX 2026 Amerty Peter is a Tanzanian musician, keyboardist, music educator, and intercultural music practitioner. With over a decade of experience in music, his work is deeply rooted in learning and sharing knowledge, with a particular interest in helping musicians develop a stronger understanding of their craft, both practically and conceptually. Amerty is a founding member of Intercultural Musicianship (ICM), an initiative focused on creating opportunities for musicians to learn, connect, and exchange ideas across cultures. Through ICM, he has helped organize and facilitate workshops, clinics, and educational programs, working with musicians and educators from Tanzania and internationally, including Professor Neil Leonard of Berklee College of Music, Aj Covey of the University of Montevallo, Dunsin Akingbolasana from Nigeria, Thomas Frost from the USA, and many others. For Amerty, music education is not simply about teaching an instrument; it is about encouraging curiosity, independent thinking, and continuous growth. Through his work as an educator and musician, he hopes to contribute to a community where musicians have greater access to knowledge, diverse perspectives, and meaningful opportunities to develop.
