Hadestown Final Dress Rehearsal Curtain Call Speech by Andre De Shields

Tonight (Sept 2nd, 2021) Hadestown @hadestown becomes the first musical to open on Broadway! But, let’s talk about last night (Sept 1st, 2021)! The final dress rehearsal of this Tony Award-winning musical hosted 156 essential workers and it was such a treasure to witness and be a part of. The legendary Andre De Shields gave an awesome uplifting speech to all the guests after the curtain call! (You can watch the full speech on our YouTube channel!) I also got to chat with some of those essential guests to ask their thoughts on the special performance! It felt so good to briefly connect with some of the people that made it possible for us to be back in the theatre. Across the board, the consensus was that the night was so needed and appreciated. If you didn’t know, this cast SINNNNNGGGS & that band plays something fierce! Opening tonight, you need to get there! Even if you’ve seen it, go just to revive your spirit!
