Alaric 2 - Razing Hellas (Hard) + Achievement | Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition

Another scenario to completely flex our infantry prowess  Which works heavily in our favor because it really simplifies the strategy for this scenario. We don't need to think about anything else, just spam Huskarls. The only exception is right at the beginning where a small group of Pikemen will help you greatly against those Cataphracts. We don't even need a lot of them either, 8 is more than enough. Then just proceed as per usual. Break the enemy gates and burn down their Town Centers. Nothing biggie. A few quick notes though, razing Argos will give us Perfusion, but this upgrade only works on our starting Barracks. Because of that, it doesn't really matter all that much. Even if you do protect your initial base, the distance from your starting area to the Romans' base is quite far, and it takes a while for your infantry to walk all the way across the map.  Also, regarding the Market, if you are not rushing to clear the scenario as fast as possible, it is definitely worth leaving 10 to 12 Huskarls at your starting base to defend against the incoming ram waves. Otherwise, if you are confident enough, just rush straight until the end!  As for the secondary objectives, like clearing the towers around the markets or gold mines, that's completely optional. If you feel like you could use some more gold, or just want to keep your units busy while the rest of them are burning the enemy Town Center, it's pretty worthwhile to do. The gates will definitely be a time waster. So, don't forget all the skills we've learned throughout the other campaigns. Bait the enemy out to force the gate open, and immediately use one of your units as a gateholder so you can keep sending your infantry floods over and over again.
