In this lesson, we will explore in detail the applications of the Zener Diode in AC circuits, and how to use it to protect circuits from sudden high voltages (voltage spikes). We will also move on to explain the Light Emitting Diode (LED), how to identify its positive and negative terminals using three different methods, alongside the method of calculating the appropriate protective resistor to protect it from damage using mathematical formulas. Finally, we will learn practically how to check and determine the safety and status of the diode and the LED using a Digital Multimeter (DMM)
