THE SILENCE OF THE HEART | A Musical Tribute to Robert Adams In honour of a beautiful soul whose teachings brought light into my darkest nights. Some souls come into our lives and leave an imprint that words can never fully express. Robert Adams was one of those souls for me. During some of my darkest nights, Robert's teachings became a light. His words gently reminded me to turn inward, question the identity I had believed myself to be, and discover a peace beyond the changing circumstances of life. For that, I will always carry an immeasurable gratitude. ALL IS WELL One of Robert's beautiful and recurring expressions was: "All is well." Not because life always unfolds as we wish, but because beyond the restless thinking mind and the ever-changing world of appearances, there is a peace that does not come and go. It is an invitation to look beyond the immediate story of our lives and discover what remains untouched. THE COSMIC JOKE We spend so much of our lives searching, striving, worrying and trying to become somebody. We build identities, defend our stories, chase happiness and search everywhere for something we believe we are missing. Yet the very thing we are searching for is not somewhere else. The beautiful cosmic joke is that we have been searching for our true nature while overlooking what we are. We take the dream of separation so seriously, forgetting to question the one who believes they are separate. There is something wonderfully liberating in this recognition. WHO AM I? Through self-enquiry, Robert encouraged us to investigate the source of the 'I'. Who am I beyond the body? Who am I beyond my thoughts? Who am I beyond my memories, fears and personal history? Not to find another intellectual answer, but to discover through direct investigation. His message continually pointed towards silence, awareness, the Self and the peace beyond the illusion of separation. MY PERSONAL TRIBUTE This song is my small offering of love, gratitude and appreciation to Robert Adams. His teachings were a light to me in the darkest night. They helped me question, look more deeply and discover a perspective on life that I may never otherwise have encountered. I cannot adequately express what that means to me.
