4 Dogs and an Empty House -- Written for Bo White --By Charlie Bowdre

“4 Dogs and an Empty House” is an original country song written and recorded by Charlie Bowdre at the request of Bo White, known from The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. Bo asked me to tell a piece of her story through a song — the loneliness of an empty house, missing her sons Derek and Billy Ray while they were away, grieving the loss of her husband, and getting through some of the hardest years of her life with four faithful dogs by her side. It’s a song about loneliness, love, grief, family, and the animals that stay beside us when the house gets quiet and life gets hard. This one is for Bo White and the story she trusted me to put into a song. I hope I did it justice.
