The Unit Classic 2026 | Competition Recap

What a day! Had an incredible day yesterday competing at the Unit Classic. An absolutely fantastic comp organised by Jamie Gemmell and his team. Ended up in 6th place. Really happy with this. By far it’s the heaviest comp I’ve done, and it felt great to prove to myself that I can be competitive in a lineup of this calibre!! 02:21 - 152kg log - 2 reps. Happy with 2 reps for a new PB, but in this lineup, it wasn’t enough. Joint last. Oh well! 02:57 - 340kg deadlift - 6 reps. Joint 🥉 really happy with this. This is the most I’ve repped, so really happy to get a good result here. 05:51 - 453kg yoke - 🥈! Wanted the win, unfortunately didn’t get it, but I’ll take runner up. Thrilled with this. 07:59 - 140, 150, 160kg sandbag moving - 5th. To say I’d never touched a regular 160kg sandbag before comp, I’m really happy with this. 10:05 - 180kg stone - 4 reps, 🥉. Happy with this. Could have done better I feel, but I didn’t- so nothing I can do now. Huge well done to Evans Nana , Jan Lacina and Matt Dimond for deservedly taking the podium spots! Special shoutout to my coach, Paul Smith, for getting my ready for comp, and allowing me to finish just half a point behind him 😉 That’s my 2026 season done. Excited to see what next year will bring!
