What is Drone Remote ID? Which drones need it? What information does it actually broadcast, who can receive it, and what do the UK CAA regulations really say? I sat down expecting to make a simple video explaining Remote ID. Instead, the more I read the CAA guidance and the legislation, the more questions I found myself asking. In this video I look at the UK CAA Remote ID regulations and explain exactly what the published guidance says about: • What Drone Remote ID is• Which UK drones will require Remote ID• When the UK Remote ID regulations come into force• What information Remote ID broadcasts• Whether it broadcasts the drone pilot's location or the take-off point• Height above ground or height above take-off point?• Who can receive Remote ID broadcasts• Whether there is an official CAA Remote ID receiver or app• The practical questions that arise from the regulations This isn't a conspiracy video. It isn't legal advice. It's simply an attempt to read the legislation, understand it, and ask the obvious questions where the regulations don't appear to provide a clear answer.
