Watercolor paintings at the Twenty Melbourne Exhibition

I recently had the opportunity to visit the 107th Exhibition of the Twenty Melbourne Painters Association. This video is provides a glimpse into the watercolour paintings that were on display. The Twenty Melbourne Painters Society formed in 1918 when followers of tonalist Max Meldrum split from the Victorian Artists Society after his election defeat. United by shared ideas, they held their first exhibition in 1919 and soon became known for their commitment to tonal realism and high artistic standards. Over its 107-year history, the society has included notable Australian artists such as William Dargie, Clarice Beckett, and Rupert Bunny. Membership remains exclusive and by invitation, upholding tradition, craftsmanship, and fellowship among representational painters. #janawatercolor #melbourneartist #akvarell
