PEAK & ICONS | Our First Full Day in Hong Kong | Hong Kong Travel Vlog
Our first full day exploring Hong Kong is here! 🇭🇰✨ And this day was definitely a mix of rain, heat, walking, food, fog, beautiful views, and a LOT of tired feet 😂
We started our day by taking the bus to the famous Monster Building—one of Hong Kong’s most iconic photo spots and a location featured in Hello, Love, Goodbye. We took some photos and explored the area before heading to Central.
From there, we explored some of Hong Kong’s iconic streets and spots, including Pottinger Street, Graham Street, Hollywood Road, and more. We mostly walked around and took photos while enjoying the city. It was hot at first, then it rained—but since we traveled to Hong Kong in August, we already expected unpredictable weather. 🌦️
BRUNCH AT YAT LOK
We also tried Yat Lok, a Michelin Guide-listed restaurant in Hong Kong, where we had their famous roast goose, pork, and dried noodles. And honestly… super worth it! 🤤 We were so full after this meal.
VICTORIA PEAK
After lunch, we walked all the way to the Peak Tram station—which was honestly exhausting 😂—but the experience was worth it! It started raining again, but luckily, the rain eased up when we finally rode the tram.
We also learned that if you want better views while riding up to Victoria Peak, try to get a seat on the right side! 👀
Unfortunately, the city was covered in fog when we first arrived at the Peak. But instead of stressing about something we couldn’t control, we decided to just enjoy the experience. 🤍
We explored the Peak, tried Bakehouse’s famous egg tart for the first time, took photos, and waited for the weather to clear. And finally… THE CITY VIEW CLEARED! 😭✨
We got to experience Sky Terrace 428 and take proper photos with the Hong Kong skyline before the fog came back.
The only problem? 😂 We were already super thirsty, exhausted, and our feet were DONE. But we couldn’t leave the Sky Terrace because once you exit, you can’t go back up. So we decided to stay and wait for the city lights instead.
And thankfully, we got to witness them—even if only for a short while before the fog returned.
We also got to experience riding the MTR, which was part of our Hong Kong adventure! 🚇
DINNER AT ICHIRAN
We ended our first full day in Hong Kong with dinner at Ichiran in Tsim Sha Tsui. I was especially excited to try it because I had been hyping it up in my head… but let’s just say… it wasn’t for me 😂
It tasted different from what I expected, and I personally didn’t find myself craving it after. But of course, everyone’s taste is different! 🤍
And that’s a wrap for Day 1 in Hong Kong! 🇭🇰
If you’re planning a Hong Kong trip, looking for places to visit, food to try, or simply want to see what a real day of exploring Hong Kong looks like, come join us! ✈️🇭🇰
