Vocal Strength Coach Reacts to Nightwish - Shoemaker LIVE at Hellfest | FIRST TIME

Nightwish Army, I owed you this one. Last week, I accidentally reacted to the Pinkpop performance of “Shoemaker” when I intended to do Hellfest. I somehow missed the venue right there in front of me, and I told you I’d make it right. So I bumped the real Hellfest performance up the schedule. Then, at about 4 a.m. this morning, I got a notification that NTR, the Dutch public broadcaster, had globally blocked my previous Shoemaker reaction. They could have claimed the revenue from it, but apparently that wasn’t the route they chose. Why? I have absolutely no idea. I will say, though, it was mildly amusing that a brand-new reaction channel managed to put up a pretty significant chunk of the views their upload had accumulated over several years. But hey. Who’s to say why anybody does anything? As far as I’m concerned, they can keep Pinkpop. Because I liked this performance even more. The thing that continues to fascinate me about Floor Jansen is the control she has over an audience that would normally be perfectly comfortable inside a mosh pit, headbanging, screaming, and getting crushed together like sardines. And then Floor smiles. Or opens her mouth. And suddenly everybody is completely locked in. Her operatic passages in this performance are absolutely beautiful. They create such a vivid picture, and hearing this song again only made me appreciate it more. I’m also curious about something regarding Tuomas Holopainen. Has Tuomas always primarily been the keyboardist in Nightwish, or did he play other instruments or sing more during the band’s earlier years? Nightwish Army, let me know.
