THOR VS ELLI – Thor’s Battle Against Old Age | Cinematic Norse Music

Inside the hall of Útgarða-Loki, Thor was confronted with a series of seemingly simple trials. He drank from a horn he could not empty and attempted to lift a cat whose paw he could barely raise. For his final challenge, Thor demanded an opponent in wrestling. Útgarða-Loki summoned his elderly nurse, Elli. Although she appeared frail and powerless, Thor could not overcome her. The harder he struggled, the more firmly she stood, until the mighty thunder god was finally forced down onto one knee. Only afterward did Útgarða-Loki reveal the truth: Elli was Old Age itself. No god, giant or mortal could ever defeat her. Thor’s ability to resist her for so long was not a humiliation, but an almost impossible display of strength.
