If we are not ministers of education or public servants, what is our responsibility for changing Africa's education system?
In this panel discussion at the Africa Arise & Shine 2026 Education Summit, Dr. Gregory Lan Ijiwola and Dr. Philip Igbinijesu take the moderator's questions following their messages on Africa's education. Dr. Igbinijesu calls every believer to think and act like God—a doer and problem solver from Genesis 1 to Acts 1:1—and urges parents and churches to learn parenting intentionally, pointing to the "curriculum" the angel gave Samson's parents.
Building on his message on the role of the diaspora, Pastor Lan is asked why Africans abroad mostly send remittances home instead of transferring knowledge and building systems that last. His answer: keep sending money when it is needed—but relief only helps temporarily. Like Jacob, who focused on a blessing that keeps on giving rather than Esau's immediate need, the diaspora must come together to do things that last.
🔹 In this conversation, you'll discover:
Why every believer, in office or not, is called to be a doer and a solver of problems
Why parents can't give what they don't have—and why every church needs a parenting curriculum
Relief versus lasting help – the lesson of Esau and Jacob for Africans in the diaspora
Practical examples Pastor Lan shares: U.S. professors empowering African universities, alumni associations equipping their old schools, and a doctor bringing medical equipment to African hospitals
Why the greatest transfer is knowledge and experience—teaching people so they can reproduce it themselves
If you are an African living abroad, a parent, an educator, or a believer who longs to see Africa's schools restored—this conversation is for you. The money we send matters, but what we teach can keep on giving for generations.
