Among those buried here is Reverend Amos Main (1709–1760), Rochester’s first minister, who played an important role in establishing the early community. Other notable burials include Colonel John McDuffee (1724–1817), Colonel Joshua Allen (died 1817), and Moses Brown (died 1780), a Revolutionary War soldier who served in Colonel Enoch Poor’s regiment.
