The baboons tease a porcupine.

The baboons tease a porcupine. But when one curious young baboon gets too close to her sharp quills, everything begins to change. At first light in southern Africa, a mother Cape porcupine and her young are searching for food when a troop of chacma baboons notices them. What starts as curiosity soon becomes a tense wildlife encounter. The young baboons approach the porcupine, cautiously testing her long black-and-white quills. As more members of the troop gather, one baboon even begins manipulating a fallen branch. But the mother porcupine has a remarkable defense. By raising her quills, producing warning rattles, and making a short defensive backward movement, she can discourage animals from getting too close. Can the baboons learn when to back away? In this wildlife documentary, discover the fascinating survival adaptations of Cape porcupines, the intelligence and curiosity of chacma baboons, and how defensive behavior can prevent dangerous encounters. *In this documentary:* Curious baboons investigate a mother porcupine A young baboon discovers the danger of sharp quills The troop responds to an unexpected warning A baboon explores a fallen branch The porcupine protects the space around her young The troop gradually learns to keep its distance #Baboons #Porcupine #WildlifeDocumentary
