THE BOSTONIANS by Henry James [Chs. 10 and 11] Readalong

Unusually early wake up for me at 3 a.m., so let’s read James. Here’s take two on chapters 10 and 11. Olive Chancellor is so mesmerized by young Verena Tarrant’s oratory that she immediately invites her over for a follow up. Does Verena go? And what does Olive want? One senses her reasons go well beyond ‘the cause.’ My brief and impromptu introduction quotes from Arthur Schopenhauer’s eminently readable Essays and Aphorisms. #henryjames #thebostonians #readalong #classicliterature #schopenhauer #feminism #booktube 0:00 Intro and Schopenhauer 02:18 Ch.10 26:35 Ch.11
