Beautiful California Lakes - 1 : Lago Santa Margarita

This Lake is at the foothills of Trabuco Canyon in Rancho Santa Margarita. The legend says that one of the soldiers in the 1769 Portola expedition, lost his gun (Trabuco) in this area. A search was made but it was never found. So the canyon got named Trabuco. Years later in 1970s a rusted gun was found in the canyon and is now displayed in the Bowers museum.
