MAKAVELI — THE DON KILLUMINATI: THE 30 YEAR THEORY 1996 — 2026 - 30 years later — The 3 Day Theory meets The 7 Day Theory. To honour the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, I wanted to revisit one of my favourite bodies of work in hip-hop: Makaveli — The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. The album released in November 1996 is already a masterpiece. But during its creation, Tupac drafted and experimented with different configurations of the Makaveli album, including songs that ultimately didn’t appear on the final release. Some of that material surfaced posthumously, sometimes with production substantially different from the original versions recorded during Pac’s lifetime. The 30 Year Theory is my interpretation of that wider body of work. I’ve brought together material from the released 7 Day Theory and earlier Makaveli configurations, alongside original versions, interviews and additional elements — then edited, mixed and completely resequenced everything into one continuous album experience. This isn’t intended to replace the original album, nor is it presented as Tupac’s definitive intended tracklist. It’s a celebration of the music he left behind and an exploration of what these records can feel like when experienced together 30 years later.
