You Have Seen This Plant Everywhere 🌿 My 5 Year Pachira aquatica Review

If you have ever walked into a garden centre or scrolled through houseplant posts online, you have probably stumbled across a Pachira aquatica at least once. Some people know it as the Money Tree. Others just recognise those glossy leaves and that funny braided trunk that seems to appear almost everywhere. I think that familiarity sometimes makes us overlook it a bit, which is partly why I wanted to sit down and finally talk about my own plant after more than five years of growing it. In this video I am doing a full review of my Pachira aquatica, following the same format that many of you enjoy on the channel. I think that kind of consistent growth helps it feel rewarding, especially if you are still getting your confidence up with houseplants. You give it a bit of light, a bit of water and it just keeps going. No theatrics. Propagation is something viewers always ask about and in my experince if you like sharing plants with friends or you enjoy growing small experimental cuttings on the side, this species is great for that. Availability is pretty simple to talk about. It is everywhere. That might be a downside for plant collectors who love rare or unusual foliage, but I think it works in the plant’s favour when you want something reliable. You can find it in small sizes that fit on a desk or in larger versions that make a real statement. It also means that the price stays reasonable, which is a nice bonus. Pests have been minimal for me. I cover the usual suspects in the video and give some tips on spotting problems early, but this plant has honestly been one of the easier ones to keep clean. I am always grateful for that because some tropical plants seem to collect pests the way a lint roller collects cat hair. Accessories and care might be my favourite part of the video because this is where the plant really becomes personal. Over five years I have tried different pots, soil mixes, watering routines and feeding schedules to find what really works. The setup I use now feels solid. Enough airflow around the soil, a pot that suits the root system and a watering pattern that avoids extremes. It is one of those plants that lets you learn without punishing you for experimenting. In the final thoughts section, I talk about why this plant has stuck around so long in my collection. It is not the rarest or the flashiest, but it earns its place because it is dependable and surprisingly charming.
