Prescribed Fire In The Sandhills

Cedar encroachment is reducing grass production across the Sandhills, and mechanical clearing couldn’t keep pace. This video shares how prescribed fire is helping restore these rangelands — opening up the hills, improving forage, and bringing pastures back into healthy, productive condition. Families who once planted cedars now see how prescribed fire protects water, strengthens grass growth, and supports earlier grazing even in dry years. Prescribed fire isn’t just a tool; it’s stewardship. #PrescribedBurn #CedarEncroachment #GrasslandRestoration To learn more about the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition and The Nebraska Grassland Alliance please visit us online. https://nebraskagrazinglands.org/ https://nebraskasgrasslands.org/
