BNSF Rapid Response Team Called For Open Container @ Cajon Summit! Come As We Document! Buddy Helps Triple Play Train meet to get us rolling! We first learn of this open Trailer from a radio transmission the Operating Crew made to Dispatch. Video time 1:44. The Operator let’s Dispatch know he has an open Container ( was actually an Estes trailer ) about 11 cars from the end of the train. I immediately start checking the passing trains to hopefully spot the problem. Sure enough I do spot an Estes open trailer eleven cars from the end of the third train. The Train Operator wants to coordinate with the Response Team about where to stop the train. At this time I decide to follow this train up the Cajon Pass and see if I can document the lock down. I next get ahead of the train again at Lower Sworthout. At 11:52 the operator and response team agree to meet at the Summit. Law Enforcement ( maybe a Game Warden? ) truck pulls up but not here for the train. He waves and I wave back. We have a little train meet here and after get on our way to the Summit. At 21:04 I can hear the Train Operator say he is at Walker. That’s 10 mins to the Summit so I am ahead. As I pull up to the Summit I can see two BNSF trucks parked and know this must be the Response Team. I park, grab Buddy and head out to talk. I ask if they are here to lock down the trailer. They say yes, but think it’s a container still. They affirm they are Rapid Response team from San Bernardino. They did get up here fast so Rapid seems fitting. Also, both are Train Mechanics and often respond to mechanical issues! I show them my earlier video and they can see for themselves what they are looking to lock up. Super nice professional gentleman! Buddy was eager to jump in and help. They both loved meeting Buddy. I get a great video of them taking photos to document and the other climbs on up and locks it down. A happy ending to a fun story! Hope you enjoy all the action!
