In Episode 4 of the 1986 Gulf Stream SunSport restoration, we tear into the hot water system to evaluate, inspect, and revive the original Suburban SW6D 6-gallon propane hot water heater (12,000 BTU). Direct Spark Ignition (DSI) water heaters on vintage rigs often sit for years gathering soot, rust scale, and spider webs in the burner tube. Before putting a flame to an appliance that hasn't fired in decades, we walk through essential safety checks, inspect the porcelain-lined steel tank and anode rod port, clean the burner assembly and orifice, and trace the 12V ignition controls to see if this classic Suburban can still produce reliable hot water.
