✧ tower info ✧ creator(s): 1818, AugmentedRetribution difficulty: Bottom Horrific [12.10] personal difficulty: Bottom Horrific [12.11] time taken: 55 hours raw footage: this is the entire run this is not cata bro I picked up this tower with very little expectation and the reason is explained by the reason I even picked it up in the first place; my worst skillset is camera control. Despite arguably being the most important skillset, it was by far my weakest even with my already lackluster skillset variety. For that reason, I picked up a lower-end horrific with that specific skillset and it’s not surprising that I struggled a lot. Moving forward, I’ll start picking up horrifics of random skillsets maybewith slightly more priority placed on camera control. I’ll go down the imverygodatobbies route because I’m just not ready for unreal, and I don’t know if I ever will be. ✧ experience ✧ When I first picked up this tower, I couldn’t all floor the tower past f6. Not really surprising but it made me lower my expectations on how my experience was going to be. After I finished all flooring it and started real runs, my progress was surprisingly steady. In around 10 hours, I had managed to reach floor 7 which though it is nothing remarkable, for my skillset weakness, that story was different. The tower could be beaten in the next 20-ish hours and the later floors would have to prove me wrong. Floor 9, which is arguably(?) the hardest floor in the tower didn’t prove much of a challenge after a bit of stratfinding with the sole exception of the second jump which boosted my confidence and in real runs, that was reflected pretty well as I found myself hardly failing f9. The other floors, 7 – 8 and 10 would have to prove me wrong about how well this grind was going to go and prove me wrong they did — specifically floor 7. Floor 7 was the weirdest roadblock the tower has to offer. For my entire grind, my performance depended entirely on whether or not I could pass floor 7. I could easily reach floor 7 at some point of the grind but passing it was a different story. This floor single-handedly tripled my grind and led to me timedumping 50 over hours on a three-minute long tower. For reference; I got to 7 for the first time in like 10 hours and then got to 10 for the first time in just under 31 hours. Now look at my time taken and my fail counter — the struggle-points are reflected really well. I was on a time crunch for this tower because I had my national exams approaching but while I was revising for it, I was watching a nearly four-hour long video of my History syllabus the day before the exam and I realised that I didn’t want to sit there and watch that video doing absolutely nothing else so I decided to multitask and do runs on this tower while revising History because there was zero chance I could revise two subjects at once. In that session, the floor 7 mindblock proved its prominence as I had gotten to floor 7 about fourteen or fifteen times that session with only two making it past. I’m pretty surprised how well I was able to focus on that video while stressing when I’m far.
