Believing he has been abandoned to make the final stand alone, he prepares to face an overwhelming enemy with no hope of survival. But when all seems lost, his companions return—choosing to fight beside him rather than live without him. The song follows a party pushed to the edge, surrounded by enemies and with their escape route collapsing. The barbarian makes the ultimate sacrifice, sending his friends away while he holds the line, convinced that his life is the price required for theirs. Then, at the final moment, footsteps return from the darkness. His companions have come back. We Die Together is ultimately about loyalty, friendship and the bond between adventurers who refuse to leave one of their own behind.
