Throughout 2025, Nickolas Kluth and Crowchester both sought to prove that they were the rightful Unlimited Wrestling Champion. In January 2025, Crowchester returned eight months after failing to appear for a scheduled Unlimited Championship title defense. The Crow attacked Kluth and from that point on referred to himself as the "Pravda Champion" (the "true champion") claiming that he had never actually lost the title in the ring. Over the following months, both rivals defended "their" championship until a direct confrontation became inevitable.
