His Grace’s Benediction for the 2019 New Year “You crown the year with goodness, and your paths drip with abundance.” Ps 65:11. In the name of the father and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit One God. Amen Thank God for bringing us from 2018 - the year of Mark to 2019 the year of Luke. This time belongs to God, and we are His servants and children who walk in this age As the prophet David said in “You crown the year with goodness, and your paths drip with abundance.” Ps 65:11. May God make this year of mercy and blessings. In this new year of Luke, for our lives to be filled with blessings, there are three major pillars we must follow. Start the Year with a New Heart: Changing the year isn’t enough, our hears and our minds must also be renewed. As the holy apostle Paul said in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away behold all things have become new.” We must learn from our past mistakes and renew our bodies to God in repentance. The Table of Love and Forgiveness: St. Luke the evangelist wrote extensively about the mercy and love of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ in the gospel of Luke says “Be merciful as your father also is merciful” Luke 6:36. Therefore we should forgive those who have wronged us, and put hatred and enmity away, living and walking in peace and love. Prayer & Diligence: The blessings of the year are obtained through prayer and diligence. Jacob said “I will not let you go until you bless me” Gen 32:26. And we, my spiritual children “Seek the peace of the city..for in its peace you will have peace” Whether it be the country you dwell in or your own country, as the prophet Jeremiah said in Jer 29:7, we should remain diligent in good works while asking God for peace to our country, peace of mind, blessings on our table. May God bless you and keep you as it is written in Numbers 6:24. May this new year be a year of peace, of love, and of joy. May God grant strength to His people, and may God bless His people with peace as it says in Ps 29:11. May He lift the divisions in the world and bring us true and lasting peace. May it be a year of healing to the sick, comfort to the troubled, and relief to the needy. As it says in Psalm 65:11 “You crown the year with goodness, and your paths drip with abundance” May God bless us to be planted in the the eye of our faith--the church--so that we are filled with heavenly and earthly blessings; to grant His grace in abundance for us to bear fruit. May God grant our country peace and tranquility alongside making it a place of development and blessings. At the same time may it be a time of love and unity for our people and spiritual growth for our church. May the good seeds we sow produce double blessings making us worthy to reap. Happy Year of Luke! May 2019 be a year of mercy.
