Public Dialogue with Victor Biak Lian | Myanmar’s Political Crisis and the Future of Chin State This public meeting features Victor Biak Lian, Operational Director of the Euro-Burma Office and recipient of the 2010 Stefanus Prize for his longstanding work in promoting human rights, democracy and peace in Myanmar. Victor Biak Lian visited Norway at the invitation of the Chin Community in Norway as a keynote speaker for the Chin Youth Gathering in Hamar. During his visit, The Chin Dialogue hosted this special public conversation to discuss the present political situation in Myanmar and the challenges facing the Chin people. The dialogue explores Myanmar’s ongoing conflict, the future of the 2008 Constitution and the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, the role of political dialogue, the demand for a genuine federal democratic union, and possible pathways towards peace and national reconciliation. The discussion also reflects on the responsibilities of Chin communities abroad, particularly the younger generation, in supporting their people and contributing to a peaceful and democratic future.
