Classic Railroad Series 991 - Simpson Lumber, 1985

In August, 1985, I made one of my first visits to the Simpson Lumber Logging Railroad out of Shelton Washington. It was on that trip that I met veteran locomotive engineer and railroad historian, Pete Replinger. We both appreciated the nice sounds of older locomotive air horns. I would spend many days on Simpson in the next several years taking videos of Simpson operations and capturing the sounds of Pete's pretty sounding horns. In this sequence we see a train leaving a small holding yard on the line down from the famous very high Vance Bridge. In second sequence we see the same train moving east toward Shelton.
