"A Stone Between Us" is a taiko-driven metal duet from YOMI, a concept album in progress inspired by Japanese mythology. Deep rap vocals and a smoky melodic voice meet over heavy drums, koto and shakuhachi. The story continues after "What the Dark Keeps." Izanagi has fled Yomi and rolls a boulder across the passage between the worlds. On the other side, Izanami speaks his name. Her grief turns into a vow: a thousand lives will end each day. He answers from the light: fifteen hundred will be born. The road is closed forever, but the hurt still gets through. This is a personal interpretation of the myth of Izanami and Izanagi from the Kojiki, told through music and anime-inspired imagery. A song about two people who once made the world together and now stand on opposite sides of it. ABOUT THE PROJECT VOW OF ASH is my personal AI-generated music project.
