Larry Labiak didn't always want to be a disability advocate; in fact, for a long time, he actively ran away from the label to avoid being pigeonholed. In this clip from Episode 4 of the Chicago Grit podcast, Larry shares his hilarious and unexpected career path before he became the "Architect of Access." From hosting a chaotic buy-and-sell radio show and producing early ESPN sports tape-delays in California, to witnessing the birth of Quickie Wheelchairs in a country garage and becoming one of the very first dealers in Illinois. Hear how burnout from the medical equipment industry eventually led him to the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, where he finally embraced his calling.
