Mukdahan (มุกดาหาร) is another one those places that remains 'unseen' - for the majority of folks travelling to Thailand. For me, I really like it, as although it does not have all of the excitement of the big Thai tourist towns, it has real local culture on show, without the loss of so-called Western conveniences.
