What does “home” actually mean? For Maxine Gallagher, coming home to Ireland didn't immediately feel like coming home. After 13 years living in Berlin, Maxine moved to Greystones with her husband and two children. She imagined the sea, a quieter life and giving her children roots. Instead, the move brought unexpected challenges. In this episode of Voices of Greystones, Maxine talks honestly about leaving Berlin, adjusting to life in a new community, finding it difficult to connect, losing her sense of identity and slowly discovering that belonging can be built through very small moments. Maxine also talks about creativity, writing, music, acting and the moment she finally described herself as an artist.
