By the Water We Grow – A Psalm 1 Folk Devotional Song

Psalm 1 gives us the image of a tree planted by streams of water—steady, nourished, and rooted. This song is a reminder that love doesn’t grow from strain or self effort. It grows because God plants us in places where mercy flows. “By the Water We Grow” is a devotional reflection on what happens when our roots sink into God’s justice, kindness, and truth. When we stay close to the Source, our lives begin to bear fruit naturally. We become steady enough to offer fairness, gentle enough to offer compassion, and grounded enough to offer hope. As you listen, let the imagery of water, soil, and rootedness settle your spirit. Ask God to nourish the places in you that feel dry or brittle. Love grows best when we are planted in grace.
