So executives share half-formed ideas, and employees hear decisions. People get scared, and scared people go quiet. Leaders read that silence as alignment. It isn't, and they usually find out when people start leaving. Two things HR can do tomorrow: Put a number on the damage. "15 seconds of typing this morning cost two offers and six people's day." Coach the behavior. Next time you have a big idea, wait, name the trade-off, and designate a naysayer. HR is at the table. HR means business.
