A Prison Plane Crashes and the One Convict Who Escapes Is a Framed Government Spy

A quiet Chicago tow truck driver is arrested for a double murder in a city he swears he has never even been to. Mark Warren seems like an ordinary man with a girlfriend, a coffee shop and a night job on the highway. Then a crash puts his fingerprints in the system, and they match a federal warrant for two agents killed at the UN. He is put on a prison plane to New York in chains, and somebody on board wants him dead before it lands. When the plane goes down, Mark vanishes into the swamps of southern Illinois. On his trail is Senior Deputy Marshal Sam Gerard, the most relentless manhunter in the country, along with his team and a State Department agent who has never made an arrest. But the deeper Sam digs, the less this fugitive looks like a simple killer and the more it looks like someone inside the government needs him to disappear.
