The Eve of the Feast of the Assembly (Quba Mêrê Dîwanê) at the Sacred Yazidi Temple in Armenia 2026

The Feast of the Assembly (Quba Mêrê Dîwanê) is a sacred Yazidi celebration held annually on September 29 at the Quba Mêrê Dîwanê, the largest Yazidi temple in the world. Located in the village of Aknalich in Armenia’s Armavir Province, the temple stands in a region where Yazidis form the largest minority. This year, thousands of Yazidis from around the world traveled to Armenia to take part in the celebration and honor this important religious tradition. This photograph was taken on the day before the annual feast, as preparations and religious activities were already taking place at the sacred site.
