THE WATER FILLS ONE BEFORE IT GOES TO THE NEXT. TANADA — 棚田: rice fields cut into a hillside as a stair of narrow terraces. They were not made all at once. A slope is turned into steps a little at a time, and the steps are kept by hand. The water comes from the top. It fills the highest terrace, and only when that one is full does it spill into the one below, and then the one below that. There is no way to water the bottom field first. As a Japanese creator, I made this 65-minute soundscape of koto and shakuhachi for focus, deep work and inner calm — for the days when there is too much to do and nowhere obvious to start.
