Vistara is gone. I tried out their premium economy.

I took a Vistara flight just before they disappeared. Today's flight is in premium economy on Vistara's A320neo, flying the short domestic route from Bengaluru to Mumbai. That means I've got a dedicated cabin just behind business (which seemed overpriced), I've got a bit of extra legroom and a decent meal, but that's pretty much it for the perks. Oh and I took some time to check out Bengaluru's absolutely stunning Terminal 2, which many airports around the world could learn something from. Wow. But most importantly, I get a chance to try out Vistara as they prepared to be merged into Air India, disappearing forever from the Indian aviation scene. That officially happened just this week as we publish this. Vistara is widely loved in India, and many are upset to see it go. I wanted to see what it was like onboard and experience it for myself – and I'm really curious to know what aspects of the Vistara service concept and premium brand Air India will try to maintain going forward.
