7/28/17 The Disneyland Railroad: Welcome Back! Pt. 1, Soft Opening(Video begins at 1:52) On July 28th, we spent the whole day at Disneyland Park to see what the railroad would do the day before the Grand Reopening of the Disneyland Railroad and it seems they did a lot more than expected. We decided to go the day before as we were told by several sources that visiting equipment would make a run for the special re-dedication ceremony of the DRR. And it turned out to be true as a few minutes prior to 9 A.M., a unusual whistle sounded out of the Dioramas and out to Main Street station and it turned out to be the Marie E.(previously owned by Ollie Johnston and now privately owned by John Lasseter) towing the Chloe and the Grizzly Flats open coach(previously owned by Ward Kimball and now owned by members of the Southern California Railway Museum, OERM in Perris, CA) through Main Street onroute to the event in New Orleans Square. After the visiting equipment left N.O.S., a bunch of Disney characters including Mickey and friends suddenly show up and after all of them arrived, Holiday 2 with CK Holliday #1 leading pull in all decorated for the event! Then loaded with the characters, the train left behind the visitor train. The chracters only went as far as Toontown and were dropped off while the visitor train was still making one last loop before passing us and then backing into the roundhouse where they will wait until ready to be shipped back out(Marie E to its home and Chloe+car to Hillcrest). Later that day: Holiday 2 without its decorations with CK Holliday #1 Holiday 4 with Fred Gurley #3 + Lilly Bellle and... Holiday 5 with Ernest S. Marsh #4 ...all ran sometime later that afternoon first for the media, then Club 33 members and then after 1 P.M., park guests including us so we had the chance to ride the DRR before the grand opening that next day! Pts. 2    • 7/28/17 The Disneyland Railroad: Welcome B...   and 3 will show more of the action after the event. ... Thanks for watching, enjoy, like, and subscribe for more train content!
