Steps to install billet half-moon seals in EJ-series Subaru engines. I walk you through the install steps and discuss why these billet seals should be used on performance engines and non-performance, reliable daily builds too! There’s a huge misconception in Subaru community about when to use billet half-moon valve cover seals. In this video, I break down why thermodynamic expansion and contraction cause the plastic OEM seals to eventually distort or shrink, which often leads to oil leaks from the valve covers. My conclusion, use these billet “wedges” in place of the OEM plastic ones, for all Subaru builds - In other words, use these for high-performance builds AND non-performance daily builds!
