"Хресту твоєму..." - Ukrainian Orthodox Chant [ENG CC]

This chant is dedicated to the Christian holiday "Воздви́ження Че́сного Хреста́ Госпо́днього". "Воздви́ження Че́сного Хреста́ Госпо́днього" is a Christian holiday that falls on September 14 according to the Gregorian calendar. It is a holiday commemorating the discovery of the cross on which Jesus was crucified. In the folk calendar, this is the "Shift" holiday, when the earth moves closer to winter. From this day on, cold weather sets in, birds fly away to the wilds, and reptiles hide in their burrows. The lyrics were written by Petro Honcharov, a Ukrainian choral music director and composer.
