2,522 SIT FOR KCSE IN ISIOLO — AMONG THEM A PREGNANT CANDIDATE & 10 PRISONERS — COUNTY ON HIGH ALERT

The Form Four National Examination for the year 2026 has started in Isiolo County as scheduled, without any hitches. In this year, Isiolo County has 2,522 candidates, of whom 1,189 are boys while 1,333 are girls, in 37 centres across the county. There are also adult candidates who have registered to sit for the examination, numbering 696, while 10 are taking the examination while in Isiolo Main Prison. Speaking during the opening of the container, Caroline Mugo, who is the County Director of Education for Isiolo, urged the examination supervisors to be vigilant in order to counter and thwart any plot to cheat in the examination. She also urged them to ensure that no one has a phone in their centres. Faith Kananu from the Ministry of Education said that Isiolo County has never recorded any case of examination cheating, a record she wants the examination supervisors to maintain in order to set a good record. For his part, the DCC for Isiolo Central, Bernard Okwiri, said that security has been beefed up, especially in areas that have recently reported cases of livestock theft. He also said strategies have been put in place in case it rains, to ensure that the examinations reach all centres. At the same time, he added that security officers will be vigilant to prevent cheating in the examination, while issuing a warning to those who may have such a plot.
