Cotuz wants to see a rocket go up at quarter past four. Is Cotuz late? Cut the clock into four quarters of 15 minutes, then learn quarter past (long hand on 3) and quarter to (long hand on 9). Read clocks together, then try the quiz. Pause and say the time! In this video, kids aged 6-8 learn to: Read an analog clock to the quarter hour: an hour cut into four quarters of 15 minutes; long hand on 3 means quarter past (short hand just past the hour), long hand on 9 means quarter to the next hour (short hand almost at it); say the digital time (4:15, 4:45). What we learn: A quarter of an hour is fifteen minutes. Long hand on three? It's quarter past. Long hand on nine? It's quarter to.
