A complete breakdown of every piece of backpacking gear I carried for 125 miles on the Appalachian Trail in March.
In this video, I walk through my roughly 12 lb three-season base weight setup — including my backpack, shelter, sleep system, cooking setup, water filtration, clothing, electronics, and the smaller things that earned their place in the pack.
This isn't necessarily the lightest or cheapest setup possible. It's practical gear I've used enough to trust, including the Granite Gear Crown2 60, Hammock Gear Burrow 20° quilt, Lanshan 1 Pro tent, Platypus QuickDraw filter, BRS-3000T stove, and more.

I only recommend gear I use and trust. If something's overpriced or unnecessary, I'll probably say that too.
