In this video, I transplant the customer’s CPU and UFS storage chip onto a donor board in an attempt to recover the data. Unfortunately, the device does not boot after the transplant. A corrupted bootloader or a fault in the customer’s UFS chip may be the cause, although the exact issue remains unconfirmed. The underfill removal was completed beforehand and is not shown in this video. This recording focuses on the transplant and testing process. With the underfill already removed, the CPU and UFS chip can be lifted using a vacuum pickup tool. To verify the procedure, I reinstall the donor board’s original CPU and UFS chip. The donor CPU can be reinstalled without reballing because all the solder balls remained intact and properly formed on the donor board during removal. The board boots and works correctly again with its original components. This successful test supports that the transplant procedure was performed correctly and points toward an issue with the customer’s original components, particularly the UFS chip.
